Telemedicine first, travel when needed
Many visits from Kurigram start with a WhatsApp video. Our vet can often tell you whether it’s safe to treat at home, whether it can wait until you can travel, or whether you should come right away.
After floods
Floods bring a predictable wave of problems: leptospirosis in dogs (spread through rat urine in floodwater), skin and paw infections, ticks and fleas, and stomach upsets from contaminated water. Before monsoon season, make sure your dog’s DHPPi+L vaccine is up to date and parasite control is current.
In winter
Kittens and puppies born in December and January are especially vulnerable. Signs of hypothermia include weakness, cold ears and paws, and not feeding. Warm them gradually (a bottle of warm — not hot — water wrapped in cloth) and call us.
Making the trip
A secure carrier, a towel, water and your pet’s old prescriptions are all you need. See our North Bengal travel guide.
