Vaccination for cats and dogs in Rangpur

  • Cats
  • Dogs
  • Ask for today’s price

When to bring your pet in

  • Your kitten is 8 weeks old or your puppy is 6–8 weeks old
  • You adopted an adult pet with no vaccine history
  • The annual booster date on the card has passed
  • Your pet is going to a new home, boarding or travelling

How it works

  1. 01

    Health check & weight

A quick exam and temperature check. If your pet is unwell, we treat first and vaccinate later.

  2. 02

    Deworming check

Worm burden weakens the immune response, so we deworm at least a few days before the first dose.

  3. 03

    The vaccine

A small injection under the skin. Most pets barely notice. We note the batch number on the card.

  4. 04

    20-minute watch & reminder

Wait nearby for 20 minutes so we can spot the rare reaction. We give you the next due date.

Why vaccination matters so much in Rangpur

Two diseases shape almost everything about pet vaccination in Bangladesh:

  • Rabies is endemic. It is spread mostly by dog bites, is close to 100% fatal once symptoms appear, and puts every person in your home at risk if your pet is infected.
  • Feline panleukopenia (“cat parvo”) and canine parvovirus survive for months in the environment and spread quickly through neighbourhoods, markets and shared spaces. Unvaccinated kittens and puppies are the ones we lose.

Both are almost completely preventable with the right vaccines at the right age.

Core vaccines for cats

Vaccine Protects against First course Booster
PureVax Feline 4 (RCPCh) Panleukopenia, herpesvirus (FVR), calicivirus (FCV), Chlamydia From 8 weeks, 2 doses 3–4 weeks apart Yearly
Biofel PCH Panleukopenia, calicivirus, herpesvirus From 12 weeks, 2 doses 3–4 weeks apart Yearly
Rabies Rabies 1 dose from about 12 weeks Yearly

Locally, people call the combined vaccine the “flu vaccine” because it prevents cat flu (sneezing, runny eyes and nose, mouth ulcers). It also covers panleukopenia, which is the one that really matters for survival.

Core vaccines for dogs

Vaccine Protects against First course Booster
DHPPi+L Distemper, hepatitis (adenovirus), parvovirus, parainfluenza, leptospirosis From 6–8 weeks, every 3–4 weeks until ≥16 weeks Yearly
Rabies Rabies 1 dose from 12 weeks Yearly

Leptospirosis is spread by rat urine and floodwater, which makes it a real risk during the monsoon in North Bengal — that’s why we include it.

Late, missed or unknown vaccines

  • Missed the second dose? Come in as soon as you can. If more than about six weeks have passed, we may restart the course.
  • Adopted an adult with no records? Treat them as unvaccinated: two doses of the combined vaccine 3–4 weeks apart and one rabies dose, then yearly.
  • Started late? There is no extra risk from vaccinating an older pet — protection simply starts later. Begin as soon as your pet is healthy.

How we protect vaccine quality

A vaccine is only as good as its storage. Vaccines that sit at room temperature in a shop fridge that switches off during load-shedding can lose their strength without any visible change. We store vaccines in a dedicated, temperature-monitored fridge and never sell vaccines to be carried home and injected later.

After the injection

Keep your pet calm and indoors for the day. A slightly sleepy pet or a small bump at the injection site is normal. Remember that full protection takes time: about two weeks after the final dose of the combined vaccine and around 28 days after the first rabies vaccine. Until then, keep kittens and puppies away from unvaccinated animals.

If your pet or a person has been bitten or scratched by an unknown animal, read our rabies bite guide right away.

Frequently asked questions

When should a kitten get its first vaccine in Bangladesh?

From 8 weeks with PureVax, or 12 weeks with Biofel PCH, with a second dose 3–4 weeks later. Rabies is given from about 12 weeks. Your vet may adjust this for a kitten from a high-risk environment.

When should a puppy be vaccinated?

The DHPPi+L series starts at 6–8 weeks, repeated every 3–4 weeks until at least 16 weeks old, with rabies from 12 weeks. An annual booster follows.

Is the rabies vaccine really necessary for an indoor cat?

Yes. Rabies is endemic in Bangladesh, it is almost always fatal, and indoor cats still slip outside, meet bats or get bitten by other animals. One rabies vaccine a year protects your cat and your family.

Can my pet be vaccinated while sick or on medicine?

Not while sick. A fever, diarrhoea or active infection means the vaccine may not work and could make your pet feel worse. Many common medicines are fine — tell us what your pet is taking.

My cat was vaccinated but still got cat flu. Why?

Vaccines greatly reduce the risk and severity but are not 100%. Maternal antibodies in young kittens, a missed second dose, poor vaccine storage, or infection before vaccination can all reduce protection.

Are there side effects?

Mild tiredness, a small lump at the injection site or a low appetite for a day are common and pass on their own. Face swelling, vomiting or collapse are rare — call us immediately if you see them.
