Common problems we see in Rangpur dogs

  • Parvovirus — vomiting and bloody diarrhoea in puppies. Read the parvo guide.
  • Distemper — eye and nose discharge, cough, then twitching. Preventable by vaccine.
  • Tick-borne disease — fever, weakness, pale gums and bleeding from Babesia or Ehrlichia. See ticks and fleas in Bangladesh.
  • Skin disease — mange, fungal infections and allergies, worse in the monsoon.
  • Wounds and fractures — road accidents and dog fights.
  • Leptospirosis — spread by rat urine and floodwater; included in our dog vaccine.

Vaccines every dog in Bangladesh should have

Vaccine When Booster
DHPPi(+L) 6–8, 10–12 and 14–16 weeks Yearly
Rabies From 12 weeks Yearly

Plan the exact dates with the vaccination schedule tool. Rabies vaccination protects your dog and your family — it’s the most important vaccine a dog in Bangladesh can have.

Feeding your dog right

Dogs fed mostly on rice and curry leftovers often end up overweight, itchy or with stomach upsets — and onion and garlic in curries are toxic to dogs. Use our food calculator and check the toxic food list before sharing your plate.
